Driven by my curiosity of how my name was spelled in Roman (Latin) alphabet, I had a quick look online and found the fact that most Taiwanese names were spelled upon common but incorrectly applied Wade-Giles system (威妥瑪拼音/韋式拼法) before 2002's official Tongyong Pinyin (通用拼音) rivalry with mainland China's ISO official Hanyu Pinyin (漢語拼音).
